Thiram treated seed not acceptable anymore

02 mei 2019

As from January 30, 2020, it is not allowed to sow seed treated with Thiram. Therefore, from now it is forbidden to send in treated seed for a DUS examination.

All these types of samples have to be sown (also) after January 2020. Until now Naktuinbouw has not such strict policy regarding treated seeds, as thiram treatment appeared not to have an influence on storability nor on plant development. EU commission implementing regulation 2018/1500 makes an end to this tolerance.

De exact requirements for samples for DUS examinations can be found on our website
